Sony has revealed a revised release date for the highly anticipated “Karate Kid” movie. The film is now scheduled to hit theaters on May 30, 2025. This change in the release schedule comes as a result of production delays caused by the industry-wide strikes that occurred in 2023, specifically impacting the production timeline of “Cobra Kai” season 6.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to the return of beloved characters from the previous films, including Ralph Macchio reprising his role as Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chan returning as Mr. Han.
The upcoming movie is highly significant as it seeks to connect the storylines of the original “Karate Kid” movies and the popular series “Cobra Kai.”
Jonathan Entwistle, who is making his directorial debut for a major film, will lead the project. Rob Lieber has written the screenplay, which offers a combination of drama and thrilling martial arts action.
Sony has decided to delay the release date to ensure a seamless transition from the “Cobra Kai” series to the big screen.
